Our Products
What are the grass fed and finished beef attributes?
Our 100% Grass Fed Beef is free of growth hormones and antibiotics.
Are your products GMO free?
We are working toward being able to label our chicken and pork as produced without the use of GMOs and have made significant progress.
To reduce reliance on GMO ingredients, we are learning to grow feed crops such as beans, peas, and flax to replace canola and soybeans. At this time, we still need to use some substitute ingredients that we cannot guarantee as GMO free. These substitutes make up about 1-2% of the animals' diet, which is why we cannot yet label the products as GMO free.
Our goal is to be able to claim GMO free on all of our meat products within the near future. Our production standards are audited and certified by third-party organizations.
What does "humane handling" of animals mean to you?
Humane handling means that herd sizes are matched with adequate human resources so animals receive proper care and attention.
Everyone handling cattle is familiar with normal animal behaviour and uses low-stress, behaviour-based handling techniques. Staff are trained and experienced in humane handling, equipment use, and livestock care.
In practical terms, this includes:
- Shelter for protection and comfort
- Feed and water to maintain optimal health
- Freedom of movement, exercise, and the opportunity to express most normal behaviours
- Company of herd mates
- Safe footing to reduce the risk of slipping
- Strong disease prevention and control
- Veterinary care, diagnosis, and treatment when needed
- Freedom from unnecessary pain and discomfort
- Emergency preparedness for fire, mechanical breakdowns, or feed disruptions
